Licensing Team are running a consultation

The Licensing Team are running a consultation about the way applications for licenses to sell alcohol are considered by Brighton & Hove City Council.

As part of this they are considering extending the Cumulative Impact Area and the Special Stress Area and are looking at developing a matrix approach for considering applications.

The New Official National Neighbourhood and Home Watch
website goes live


Dear members,
Please find below official notification that the new national website is now live and
ready to use which I hope you will use to circulate to the wider membership who may
not be aware of the site. The Home Office and the Minister James Brokenshire for
Crime Prevention have informed us that they are very happy with the pilot phase of
the website and that we should now focus our attentions on promoting it within the
Neighbourhood Watch community to populate and update the site with local
schemes, news and events.

Central area LAT being formed

A new local action team is being formed to fill the gap between the existing LATs.

This will fill the area between the CMPCA, the BOTlat and the B&A lat

Many residents of Farman Street and Cross Street were also in attendance
Bill introduced the two council representatives Jonathan and Simon who dealt with the previous aborted request for a gate.
They told us that the previous gating order was very slow going and had received more objections than any other applications in the city. The Ramblers Association and Local Access Group have issues regarding gating orders.
