This Thursday! Hove Town Hall – drop-in times below…

Join in the discussion on our plans to make services fairer, easier to access and better for everyone…

NHS Brighton and Hove, Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Trust and Brighton, and Hove City Council provide services for everyone in the city – and we all deserve to be treated with fairness and respect.

We’re making plans for the future to improve what we do: how we work with communities and respond better to what people need, how we employ the best staff who represent the diverse groups in the city, and how we work together with other organisations and community groups to make our services easier to access. These actions will form our equality schemes – and guide how we will improve and measure our success.

Tell us what you think of our plans and what we should include. You can either drop-in to one of our sessions -

This Thursday - 29th October: 10am – 1pm, 2pm – 5pm and 6pm – 8pm

Hove Town Hall, Norton Road, Hove

(BSL signers and induction loops will be provided. For more information or to discuss access needs please call Charlotte Graham on 01273 545331 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it   Type talk welcome.)

Or get in touch with us directly –

NHS Brighton & Hove: Charlotte Graham on 01273 545331

Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust: Barbara Harris on 01273 696955

Brighton and Hove City Council: Sarah Tighe-Ford on 01273 292301 or look for ‘Single Equality Scheme’ on www.brighton-hove.gov.uk

Please do pass this information and the attached poster on to any groups or individuals who might be interested in giving their views.

Apologies for cross-posting.

Background:

We’re trying to encourage as many people as possible along to this final consultation event or to send in their views via the Council’s consultation pack (available online or form Sarah – details above). The consultation is shared with NHS Brighton and Hove, Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Trust and Brighton and Hove City Council, so there will be an opportunity to give views on health plans as well as across the council’s services.

This process is for each organisation to review the separate Gender, Race and Disability Schemes that we have and to combine them into a Single Equality Scheme along with actions relating to the other 3 strands of Age, Religion and Belief and Sexual Orientation. The schemes will detail our planned actions and explain how we will measure our achievements. It’s a really key document for each of the organisations and we want to hear from diverse groups and individuals in the city to make sure that the actions we identify are the right ones.

Please do encourage people who work in, volunteer for or attend your groups to come along – the more views the better!

Best wishes,

Sarah
