BRUNSWICK AND REGENCY COMMUNITY CHEST (including Primary Care Trust Funding). INVITATION TO APPLY FOR FUNDS

Brunswick and Regency Neighbourhood Group (NG), is managing and administering  a Community Chest on behalf of,  Health and the Novis Scarman Trust.  This will enable local community groups to bid in for funding for activities to be delivered within the Neighbourhood  Area.

Who can apply?

Community, voluntary groups and organisations that work in the area of benefit – the Neighbourhood Action  of Brunswick and Regency.
Groups of individuals or un-constituted groups can apply for funding but need to work in partnership with, or supported by, a constituted group or body. All groups / organisations that receive the funding will need to have a bank account and two signatories, or be supported by an organisation that meets this criteria.
Funding will not be granted for work that seeks to further political or religious aims.

How much?

A total of at least £3,500 is anticipated for these Health related projects[1] and the NG wishes to maximise its impact in the area.
It is not anticipated that one organisation would be awarded the whole amount
By way of guidance last year five projects were grant aided with sums of between £500 and £800.

What projects can be funded?

Projects need to link to the Themes, areas for Action, and Initiatives identified in the published Action Plan for the area – copies and details available via Brighton and Hove City Council website

Past applications from BME groups and those providing services to children have been under represented, so such applications are actively encouraged.

Applications should be received by September 15th for consideration for the first funding round and projects need to be completed by 31st March 2010

Application forms available from http://br-nag.org.uk/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=56&func=fileinfo&id=190 or calling 07879452929

[1] Please note Health related projects can impact on areas other than those just under the  Health theme.  For example promotion of walking by children has a health impact as well as a sustainable transport one.
