Crocus Planting Norfolk Report

Special thanks to Reggie & Paulo of The Atlas Bar who along with myself spent Friday evening digging up the turf and preparing the ground ready for planting. Then relaying the turf over the newly planted 400 crocus corms.
Also thanks to Reggie for providing coffee and teas after the event in his Atlas Bar.

Thanks to PCSO Crystal Thick (Cat) for keeping an eye of the Square whilst we were there and making sure it was clear of 'drinkers' before the planting began.

The money for the crocus planting was part donation from EBRA and part from  Bruce and Barbara Montague. Thanks Bruce and Barbara your gift will go on flowering every year whilst Norfolk Sq is there..

It was announced at the City in Bloom Awards on 3 September 2009 that LANSDOWNE AREA RESIDENTS’ASSOCIATION had been awarded the EDWARD FUREY COMMUNITY CUP.

This award recognizes work done in the community, through the co-operation of residents, traders and voluntary groups, such as Brunswick and Regency Neighbourhood Action Group.  The cup was accompanied by a cheque for £100 to be spent at the council nurseries and a beautiful bunch of sunflowers.

LARA wishes to say a big THANK YOU to all those who have helped and supported their association over the years.

If you live or have a business in the Lansdowne Area of Brunswick Town and are interested in becoming more involved in your local community projects please come along to one of the regular meetings or contact the Chair.  The AGM is on 30 September at Holland Road Baptist Church 7.30 p.m.
