Brunswick in Bloom

I thought it would be a good idea if  we have a weekly update on actions being carried out by the various groups.  In this way, we should avoid endless meetings.  Please reply with comments, suggestions, offers, ideas.    Full details of the JUDGING CRITERIA and what we have to achieve are available on the South East in Bloom website:  www.sseib.com  Best wishes, juliette hunting
So here is  the offering for 14 February 2010

Freecycle closes down

Hello Brighton Freecycle Members,
Rob and I who have been running this group for years have been forced to find alternative ways of helping you RE-USE and RECYCLE your stuff. We are not the 'owners' of the Brighton Freecycle Group- we JUST run it 24 hours a day. We can no longer volunteer our time under the banner of Freecycle.
Thank you for making the Brighton Freecycle group the success it has been.
We are sorry that we can not continue under the Freecycle umbrella and hope you will join us on the NEW group we have set up.(There is no one left to run the official Freecycle group for Brighton.)
We have created a NEW group so you can all carry on as if nothing has happened :)

It was announced at the City in Bloom Awards on 3 September 2009 that LANSDOWNE AREA RESIDENTS’ASSOCIATION had been awarded the EDWARD FUREY COMMUNITY CUP.

This award recognizes work done in the community, through the co-operation of residents, traders and voluntary groups, such as Brunswick and Regency Neighbourhood Action Group.  The cup was accompanied by a cheque for £100 to be spent at the council nurseries and a beautiful bunch of sunflowers.

LARA wishes to say a big THANK YOU to all those who have helped and supported their association over the years.

If you live or have a business in the Lansdowne Area of Brunswick Town and are interested in becoming more involved in your local community projects please come along to one of the regular meetings or contact the Chair.  The AGM is on 30 September at Holland Road Baptist Church 7.30 p.m.
