Good idea

I've been feeling a sense of grieving since Regency got chucked out of its LAT after the Old Town nimbys took it over between meetings!

B&R Nag to become the Central LAT!

Not quite, but it could be. Judging from the LAT map, there is a recognised LAT in the Old Town (with about 4 groups within it), a LAT up to Western Street (with around 6 groups), a LAT on the seafront prom'.

That leaves a very large central area not really covered by a LAT.
Should B&R NAG conecntrate on the central area from Waterloo street to North Street, Seafront to Upper North street?
We already act as a bridge for several groups and Neigbourhood watch within the area and are currently looking into passing 'criminal' activities within the B&R area NW groups.

Send us your thoughts.

alchopop newsagents banned

Three to Four in Western Road, Brighton and Mesopotamia in York Place, Brighton, were both caught after the police and trading standards officers organised ‘test purchases’ with 16-year-old volunteers. Both were caught selling alcohol to children on three separate occasions.

Brighton & Hove City Council’s Licensing Panel suspended Three to Four’s licence for six weeks and Mesopotamia’s for three months.

city cycle club?

I have been asked by the Director of Public Health to explore the
possibility of piloting a free bike service for the city similar to the one
in Paris.

Does anyone have anything they can send me regarding schemes of this kind:
  a.. Evaluation reports
  b.. Feasability reports
  c.. General info
d.. Knowledge of any similar work carried out previously in the City
e.. Any known businesses/contacts who might be interested in bidding to
provide such a scheme
Many thanks
David

Another Tesco in the area!?!

Tesco has made a new bid to open a store selling alcohol for 17 hours a day within the controlled city centre area.

The latest plan for a Tesco Express in Queen’s Road, Brighton, comes weeks after the supermarket giant used a court ruling to allow it to sell booze at a new branch planned for St James’s Street, Brighton.

The proposed site, in the former Dreams bed store, is on the main route from Brighton Station to the seafront.

It would open from 6am to 11pm.

Fly Posting

Fly posting?

Do you think that this scene defeats all the hard work that the Norfolk Square residents Association has put in?

If this practice is allowed on one "kiosk"  wall, then it will soon be acceptable (anti social) practice to plaster every available wall with posters advertising anything.

This is already apparent in the fly posting on empty shops.

What are your comments on this?
